Nick Ray of ModernNash (aka: Ikea Nick) has a great recipe for a Yummy Cocktail...

Recipe For THE SAVAGE:

1 + 1/2 oz Vodka
1 + 1/2 oz Tropical Rum
3 oz Orange Juice
3 oz Pineapple Juice
2 T Grenadine

Mix it all together and partake responsibly. YUMMY!

YUMMY RECIPE: SWAMP THING

Mr. I and I love these all year, but especially in summer. Make one today!

Recipe for the Famous Swamp Thing:

2 Parts Vodka
1 Part Triple Sec
2-3 Parts Orange Juice
1 Part O.S. Cranapple
5 (not 4 or 6...5) Maraschino Cherries
2 T Maraschino Cherry Juice

Here is the trick. This MUST be made in a Solo 16 oz Red Cup your first few times until you get the measurements right. The Vodka goes up to the bottom ring on the inside of the Red Cup. then add the rest....YUMMY!

Got this from Ms. Oprah. However, I have a few twists on the original.

1 1/2 C POM juice

4 shots (1 oz) Absolut Citron Vodka

2 Shots (1 oz) Cointreau

Juice from 1/2 Lime

Garnish with a lime twist or wedge.

Put it all in a cocktail shaker (except the garnish). Add Ice...shake, shake, shake, shake your booty!

Pour, drink and enjoy!

Low Sugar Cocktails & Slushes

We don't profess to be an expert in all things "Low Sugar", but since we are trying to reduce our sugar intake, we have been giving some thought to cocktails made with real 100% juice. Don't get us wrong, we have some wonderful cocktail mixes. But we also have some wonderful 100% juice mixes that are great as cocktail mixers. 100% juice Orange Mango and Peach Mango are great with Vodka, Rum, Coconut Rum or Tequila.
You can name your own drink or call it any of the following: Orange Mango Rita, Peach Mango Rita, Frozen Screwdriver, Swamp Thing, Mango Madness, Peach Mango Daiquiri, Orange Mango Daiquiri....you get the idea.


100% juice Cherry Limeade is GREAT with Coconut Rum or White Rum. Call it a Cherry Bomb and all your friends will be impressed. It would be great with Vodka for a Cherry Martini too.


100% juice Green Watermelon is great with silver Tequila for a Watermelon Margarita or with Vodka as a Watermelon Martini or a Watermelon-tini.


You can make a great Rum Runner with our 100% Juice Fruit Punch.

Oprah's Pomegranate Martini

We don't get the chance to watch Oprah very often, but every now and then we find a recipe or two that just sounds yummy. Oprah's Pomegranate Martini was one of them.

Here is the printed version from Oprah.com:

INGREDIENTS:1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice
2 oz. Absolute Citron vodka OR white tequila
1 oz. Cointreau liquor
Cup of ice
Optional: Splash of sparkling water
Optional: Squeeze of lemon Shake ingredients in a shaker and put in chilled martini glasses. Put pomegranate fruit into glass as garnish.

Oprah's version from the show (from her voice, to your lips):

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 Cups Pomegranate Juice

Squeeze of Lime (or Lemon..but O prefers Lime)

Cocktail Shakers...Show Santa Your Groovy Side!

We have decided that Santa "ain't just drinkin' milk anymore". Ask us, we'll tell you.

So we've decided that everyone needs to have a cool, hip, funky and groovy cocktail shaker in their home bar so that Santa has something spicy to go with is cookies.

And why just get a stainless steel cocktail shaker. We have decorative glass cocktail shakers from Wild Eye Designs, Kikkerland, Fred and many others. They look great on a shelf and make a mean Cosmopolitan.

How about a recipe:

COSMOPOLITAN Martini Chilled...And Shaken:

In a 16 oz shaker add:

1/4 Cup of Ocean Spray Cran-Apple Juice

1/4 oz Lime Juice (Juice from 1/2 Lime..approx)

1/4 oz Cointreau or Triple Sec

1 1/4 oz Absolut Citron Vodka

Ice 3/4 of the way to the top

Close the shaker, then sing (to the tune of "Shake Your Booty")

Shake, shake, shake....shake, shake, shake...shake your Cosmo...

Garnish with a twisty piece of lime rind...cute and impressive. Share with a friend.
